In 2004, the Snowmobile and ATV Advisory Committee (SAAC) released the results of a comprehensive survey completed in conjunction with the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR) on registered ATV owners in PA.  The following figures reflect the average cost and number of trips for both in-state and out-of-state ATV excursions.

  • •PA TRIPS: PA riders average 9 day trips and 2.3 overnight stays for a total of 11.3 in-state trips per year

     

  • OUT-OF-STATE TRIPS: PA riders average 1.4 day trips and 1.1 overnight stays for a total of 2.5 out-of-state trips per year

     

  • TOTALS: Based on these statistics, PA riders spend an average of $2413 annually in-state and $1255 out-of-state for a total of $3668

     

  • This means that a family of four can purchase an annual Gold Pass Family Membership for $400 and secure an exciting place that's close to home for 365 days of riding a year, while still having an average of $3268 dollars left over for other ATV adventures
